Daniela Krause
Daniela Krause is a bilingual writer, newly published author, and emerging pop vocalist and songwriter known on stage as HARLEAN PALFREY. Having built a career spanning eighteen years across international industries in the public and private sectors of Germany, Ireland, and the United Kingdom, her writing carries the authority of lived experience and the restlessness of someone who refuses to stay in one lane. She channels the same precision and emotional intelligence into both her literary work and her music — as a vocalist, songwriter, and artist with new releases currently in the making. In a curious nod to the surreal, she is also known to mine her own dreams as a plot tool, weaving the logic of the subconscious directly into the fabric of her stories. A 2025 Master of Arts graduate in Creative Writing from the University of Galway, Daniela has wasted no time making her mark. Her poem "When You Cry Alone" was shortlisted in the international Bard of Connacht Competition in October 2024. In April 2025 she read her poem "Carnival" at the MA Showcase during the Cúirt International Festival of Literature. Her debut short story "We Can Make Love in These Empty Fields" was published in époque press in November 2025, and her story "No" appears in the 34th issue of ROPES Literary Journal, launched at Cúirt 2026 and available in bookstores from 22nd April 2026. Selected for the Irish Writers Centre National Mentoring Programme 2026, supported by Galway City Council, she is developing her debut Fantasy Fiction novel alongside ongoing submissions of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry to literary journals. Inspired by the fantasy worlds of Ralf Isau and Tolkien, the tension of Stephen King, the moral scope of Tolstoi, the mythmaking of J.K. Rowling, and the political conscience of Günter Grass — Daniela Krause is a writer of quiet intensity and wide-ranging curiosity. A name that is only beginning to be heard.
